Brenda Tan originally started out making drawings and sculptures. Since pursuing an MA in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, she has been challenging the boundaries set between art and illustration through her work. Most recently, she has developed a moniker ‘HelloPigu’; her works follow the life of her character, a ‘Longevity Peach’, to document everyday occurrences of adulting.
Moving out of the realms of digital illustrations, HelloPigu is taking full form by foraying into the physical world. Her recent works include murals at Urban Design Festival (2018) and The Substation (2019), an interactive installation at Night Festival (2019) as well as the debut of her canvas paintings at Ultrasupernew Gallery (2021).
