Made Wiguna Valasara is an artist who deeply engages in painting and sculpture. He is mostly known for his stuffed canvas technique, depicting varied subject matter, from his reinterpretation on Bali Traditional Painting to appropriation on Renaissance and Modern paintings.
His works have won a number of awards, including finalist at the UOB Painting of the Year (2012); finalist at the 2010 Indonesian Art Award and Best Painting at ISI Yogyakarta’s 23rd Dies Natalis (2007). In 2011, he was artist-in-residence at Selasar Sunaryo Artspace, Bandung, Indonesia.
